Platform Engineer (C++/Linux) | Pharma | Switzerland | Hybrid | 12 Months

For our client in the pharmaceutical sector, based in Switzerland, we are looking for an experienced Platform Engineer to join a team developing and maintaining an in-house Linux platform used in medical devices.

Your Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a custom OS abstraction layer with a strong focus on modern C++ backend development.
• Design, implement, and maintain a system daemon and a suite of plugins exposing operating system capabilities through an RPC API.
• Contribute to the evolution and maintenance of an in-house Linux distribution for medical devices.
• Write and maintain unit and integration tests to ensure software quality, reliability, and maintainability.
• Refactor legacy code, manage Debian packaging and configuration, and drive continuous platform improvements.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver technical solutions for medical instrument and software development projects.

Your Profile

• 10+ years of hands-on experience with modern C++ development.
• Strong experience developing software in a Linux environment.
• Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience with unit and integration testing, code refactoring, and Debian packaging/configuration.
• Fluent English, with the ability to communicate technical concepts effectively.

• Experience with virtualization or container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).

• German language skills.
