Kubernetes & Database Platform Engineer vacancy for our Zürich based client in the Telco sector.
Your tasks:
- Operate, monitor and continuously improve a Kubernetes-based platform and the managed services running on it, including MongoDB, PostgreSQL and Kafka.
- Ensure high availability, scalability and resilience through proactive monitoring, alerting and incident management.
- Perform and automate day-2 operations such as upgrades, patches, backup and restore activities, and capacity management.
- Analyse incidents and issues, carrying out root-cause analysis in production-like environments.
- Implement and maintain observability tooling, including monitoring, dashboards and logging solutions.
- Work closely with the engineering team to improve operating processes, runbooks and automation, and participate in on-call support.
Your experience/knowledge:
- Proven experience in Kubernetes administration and the operation of container-based platforms and services.
- Strong practical knowledge of observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana and ELK/OpenSearch.
- Experience with automation and infrastructure as code, for example Ansible, Terraform and Helm, as well as CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, Git and Docker.
- Solid Linux and systems engineering experience in production or production-like environments.
- Hands-on experience with at least one of the following technologies: MongoDB, PostgreSQL or Kafka.
- Language skills: English
