IT Applications Engineer – Bloomberg, Tradeweb, FIX, Banking – this is a long term contract opportunity to join our Basel based client in the Banking sector.

Your tasks:

• Support development and integration of trading and market venues, ensuring robust connectivity and data flow to supported banking applications.
• Resolve incidents and issues related to external trading venues (e.g., Bloomberg, Refinitiv, Tradeweb, MarketAxess, Eurex, BidFX, CFETs, SIX), collaborating with both technical and non-technical teams for end-to-end solutions.
• Document trading and market venue connectivity and support processes, promoting a culture of knowledge-sharing and continuous improvement.
• Contribute to long-term system performance and resilience improvements, including out-of-hours support for system maintenance and failover testing.

Your experience/knowledge:

• Experience as a Trading and Market Support Engineer in a financial services environment, including support for trading systems.
• Demonstrated ability in managing entitlements and administration for trading and market venues.
• Strong familiarity with market/trade data usage, performance monitoring systems, and message protocols (FIX, FPML/XML).
• Advanced technical expertise in Linux/Windows and scripting (Python, Bash, Powershell); experience with integration technologies (Kafka or MessageQ) and SQL highly valued.
• Language skills: English
