VMware Systems Engineer – Powershell, Python, Virtualisation and Automation – this is a long term contract opportunity to join our Basel based client in the Financial Services sector. 

Your tasks:

• Manage the virtualization platform VMware, including troubleshooting, monitoring performance, and ensuring capacity and availability.
• Drive the implementation of automation to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
• Monitor system performance and environmental conditions, identifying and escalating potential issues.
• Assist with racking, stacking, and connecting devices (servers, network, storage).
• Support the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of storage solutions.

Your experience/knowledge:

• Extensive experience as a Virtualization System Engineer.
• Strong skills with VMware or similar technologies.
• Good knowledge of scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash for implementing automation tasks.
• Experience implementing automation initiatives to improve operational efficiency.
• Language skills: English

• Flexibility to participate in on-call rotations and handle critical incidents as needed.
