Python Developer – PySpark, SQL – this is a long term opportunity for a Software Engineer for a Swiss based client in the financial services sector.

Your tasks:

• Writing code in Python and SQL, with PySpark on Azure Databricks
• Building solutions against delta lakes and relational databases
• Performing analysis, design, implementation, and testing with a focus on automated testing
• Extending the functionality of the consistency check engine for sub-ledger data
• Optimizing performance for large data volumes with datasets containing tens of billions of rows

Your experience/knowledge:

• Experience developing complex software systems as a Software Engineer
• Strong core Python software engineering experience
• Significant experience with relational data models and SQL
• Hands-on experience with Spark
• Language skills: Highly proficient in English (written and verbal)

Your soft skills:

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to break down complexity into manageable tasks
• Good work ethic and self-starter mentality
• Proactive in identifying issues and opportunities
