Endpoint/ Infrastructure Engineer – BigFix Enablement vacancy for our Switzerland based client in the Telecommunication sector.
Your tasks:
- Enable OS teams to install and configure HCL BigFix Agents on Windows and Linux servers, including troubleshooting, log analysis, agent health monitoring, relays, relevance queries, and action scripts.
- Act as a single point of contact for all technical questions related to BigFix, agent deployment, API queries, and infrastructure dependencies.
- Support the project manager in planning, tracking progress, risk and issue management, and reporting.
- Ensure transparent and active communication with OS teams, security, monitoring, network, and project organisation.
- Handle excludes/exceptions, analyse complex systems, and present findings to OS Engineering Teams.
Your experience/knowledge:
- Completed education in Computer Science (FH/HF/EFZ) or comparable technical experience.
- Experience with at least one enterprise endpoint or server agent technology such as BigFix (HCL), SCCM/MECM, Tanium, Zabbix Agent, Splunk Forwarder, Puppet Agent etc. including installation, configuration, agent lifecycle, troubleshooting, and log evaluation.
- Understanding of infrastructure components across networking (HTTP/HTTPS, proxy/relay structures), storage (Microsoft SQL Server backend), and virtualisation (VMware, Hyper-V or other hypervisors).
- Proficiency in scripting languages for automation and API integrations (PowerShell, Bash, or Python) and familiarity with REST APIs (JSON/XML).
- Exposure to DevOps technologies such as Artifactory, Ansible, Docker, Git, Jira, and knowledge of ITIL processes (deployment, change, incident, problem management).
- Language skills: English
