Business Analyst – Banking, Data Modelling, SQL – this is a 2  year contract vacancy for our Basel based client in the Banking sector.

Your tasks:

• Collaborate with business areas such as Risk, Finance, Front, Middle, and Back Office to understand their data needs and requirements.
• Define requirements for data products, including table schemas, in partnership with business stakeholders.
• Design data models that support efficient data retrieval and meet business objectives.
• Assist in producing data workloads, reports, queries, spreadsheets, and dashboards within a modern data lakehouse environment.
• Develop and execute test plans to validate data accuracy and completeness.
• Write and optimise SQL queries to support workload creation and validation.

Your experience/knowledge:

• Proven experience as a Business Analyst working on data-related projects within financial services or a similar industry
• Strong expertise in banking business areas such as Middle Office, Risk, and Finance, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Proficiency in SQL, including writing and optimising complex queries
• Solid experience in data modelling, including table schema and data structure design
• Familiarity with data platforms and modern data architecture
• Language skills: English
